It might not be the luckiest of numbers but Chrome thirteen is packed with new goodies The Chrome browser updates continue to fly out of Google's development HQ and lately a development version of Chrome thirteen was released. The development versions of Chrome can be pretty unbalanced and aren't intended for everyday use but they do give users a feeling of what they can anticipate. Hence what are we able to expect from Chrome thirteen? Multiple profiles an extra feature in Chrome is the power to jump between multiple profiles. As an example, you have got a business profile and an individual profile : one has all of your settings for your business account and another for your private surfing. This implies you do not have to log off and in again to change between, for instance, Gmail accounts. Every one can run in its own browser window. Background programmes This is something we are going to see lots more of in the future as the web becomes a first channel for distributing applications. Chrome's background programmes permits Chrome-based programs to run in the background, whether or not the browser window is shut. This implies that applications which check, as an example, Twitter or Gmail, can still provide notifications of inward-bound messages. In Chrome thirteen the background programs feature is turned on by default but can be turned off to save resources in Options-Under the Hood. Omnibox enhancements One of the focus areas for Chrome thirteen is the Omnibox, the all-in-one URL and search bar in Chrome. Part of the work is targeted on improving string-matching, especially on Mac OS X and Windows seven, which is thought of as being rather too slow. Also included is work on Google Instant to give the opportunity to restrict it to search only. Google Instant is the technology that provides instant search results as users type. Chrome thirteen is still in early development, while Chrome twelve was added to the beta channel earlier in the month.
