Google is overhauling the way that it treats user info, linking info across its selection of e-mail, video and social-networking services so that info gathered in one place can be employed in another. For instance, if you spent the last hour logged into Google to search the Web for skateboards, next time you log into YouTube, there's a fair chance you will get suggestions for videos featuring Tony Hawk. The changes are effective March first and remove some of the legal hurdles that Google faced by having more than seventy different privacy policies across numerous services. But the changes could irk privacy critics for the sheer volume of info picked up. Google Incorporated . Wants to improve the user experience across its different services and give advertisers a better way of finding shoppers.
